American rapper, singer, songwriter, actor, television producer, entrepreneur, and investor Curtis James Jackson III known professionally as 50 Cent has slammed Floyd Mayweather who recently ignored the call for the black community to boycott Gucci designed clothes.
African Americans, especially stars like T.I and Spike Lee, called for people to boycott Gucci after they were accused of racism for creating a balaclava jumper that was made to resemble blackface.
But Floyd Mayweather publicly flouted the boycott and spent thousands of dollars as he went on a Gucci shopping spree on Monday night.
Mayweather explained that he went on a Gucci shopping spree because he refuses to let people tell him how to live.
Well, 50 Cent, who is his former friend turned enemy, wasted no time in calling him out for his lack of support for the boycott. The rapper told the boxer that he’s saying all the wrong things and advised him to get a publicist.
The call was made after Gucci released a sweater which reminded people of the Blackface racist Caricature. The clothing line has however apologized and have removed the sweater from store.
While many are joining the boycott Gucci call, Floyd Mayweather is of the opinion that no one can tell him what to do.
While on a massive shopping spree with his crew at the Gucci store in Beverly Hills, Floyd Mayweather said:
“I’m not no follower, I do what the f–k I wanna do.”
“You know when everybody else, they say, ‘Everybody gonna boycott?’ I say, guess what, this boy gonna get on a yacht and live life,” Mayweather continued.
Angered by the boxer’s statement, 50 Cent who recently joined the boycott Gucci call by burning Gucci shirt and materials, slammed Mayweather with a picture seen below.
50 Cent also posted a video of himself burning a Gucci shirt and says he’s donating all of his Gucci to the homeless because he won’t wear the brand anymore.
