Nigerian comedian Francis Agoda professionally known as I go dye has written an open letter to President Muhammadu Buhari over the funds donated to fight the coronavirus disease in the country.
I go dye took to social media via his Instagram page to publish his letter to the president, telling him to take a stance to protect Nigerians against several damages and loss of lives from the coronavirus
The funnyman revealed his concern for the funds donated, stating that if it is not properly monitored, it will go into the pocket of one man.
Stating how the coronavirus case started from one person, moved to millions of people and killing thousands in a matter of weeks, the comedian urged the president to take drastic steps to ensure that it does not get out of hand in Nigeria.
“What human or medical equipment do we have in Nigeria that can be compared with America, Spain, Italy or even the whole of Europe, which has been ravaged by the coronavirus? Are we prepared at this time? Whereby looking from outside we still have not made essential preparations by learning from what these nations are currently facing,” he said.
I go dye also encourage the president to send relief materials to Nigerians. He stated that the lockdown affected many people’s sources of income. According to him, many Nigerians earn their livelihood from the street and telling them to stay at home would negatively affect them.
He also told the president to ensure that the money released for Nigerians would be embezzled if not properly monitored.
