
Actor Chikezie Uwazie passes away, adding to a series of tragic losses in Nollywood
In a series of untimely tragedies to befall Nollywood, it has been reported that seasoned Nigerian actor, Chikezie Uwazie has passed away in the United States of America.
This comes just hours after the deaths of two other popular actors, Saint Obi and Murphy Afolabi.
According to Vanguard, Uwazie passed away after undergoing a second brain surgery.
His colleague, Obey Etok Chima, took to Facebook to share the sad news of the actor’s passing on Sunday, May 14.
Uwazie had been living in the US for over seven years and starred in hundreds of Nigerian movies during his time in the early 2000s.
She wrote; “I can’t imagine am posting this. Chikezie Uwazie goneeeee. After a 2nd brain surgery. Gini na emezi. Am so shocked to get this news this evening. Just got this from our IMSU alumni platform.
“I thought you told me you were going to the states for greener pastures. You promised to come back some years back but I didn’t see you. Can’t believe you are gone but God knows best. Rest on Chyko.”
