Banky W celebrates Wizkid on his MOBO award win, He responds

Akpraise Media had earlier reported that popular Nigerian musician Wizkid had won the award for Best International Act at the recently organised MOBO Awards, the first African act to do so.

Since his win, many people have taken to social media to congratulate him. Surprisingly, Wizkid’s former label boss, Banky W has now congratulated Wiz on this new feat.

Banky took to his Page to write;

“Forever proud of this my younger brother.. forever. @wizkidayo this was always the plan and I’m soooo happy to witness the dream become reality. Go farther, Go higher, Keep winning by God’s grace. #blood #familyfirst #familyforever #starboy #eme”

Banky of course didn’t forget about Davido, he congratulated Davido on the 3 awards he copped this year, and also spoke a bit about the Rivalry between Davido and Wizkid.

Here’s what he wrote;

“While we are at it, Bigups to another young legend @davidoofficial on his wins.. this talented lad came into the game, never stopped working and never stopped winning. And I’m so proud of him as well.”

“What’s better than one Superstar? Two.”

“Wiz and David are both extremely important to the Naija/African music movement and culture, and I personally HATE it when ppl try to make it seem like you have to choose one or the other.”

“There’s enough room in the sky for all of our stars to fly, so instead of us encouraging a childish, petty narrative that never ends well (remember Pac/Biggie?), we shld encourage all of our acts to be all they can be. I don’t wanna choose.”

“Why should I have to? I want Wiz AND David AND Olamide AND Kiss Daniel AND Tiwa AND Yemi and eeeeevery last one of us who have somehow managed to break through, to remain successful and relevant. I pray the same for all our upcoming talents who are about to make it.”

“After all, no one wins when the family feuds. I’m clear why I’m here.. how about you? #jayzvoice”

Senator representing Bayelsa East in the National Assembly, Ben Murray-Bruce has reacted to Wizkid’s big win at the 2017 MOBO Awards last night.

According to him, this is his proudest moment.

He wrote on Twitter;

“Dear @wizkidayo, I‘ve been in the entertainment business as an investor since 1980 and one of my proudest moments for Nigerian music is the day you defeated both Jayz and @Drake, two of the biggest stars in the world, to win the Best international Act at the #MOBOAwards well done”
