CAF finally unveil top 3 finalists for African player of the year award

Confederation of African Football (CAF) have unveiled Egyptian attacker Mohamed Salah, Gabon international Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Senegalese attacker Sadio Mane as the top three finalist for African player of the year award.

Mohamed Salah who plays for English side Liverpool has been in tremendious form for his side this season as he is presently the highest goal scorer in the English Premier League with 14 goals, he was also instrumental in his country’s qulification to the 2018 World Cup as the last time time they have been in the World Cup was 1990.

Mane’s appearance in the top three of the list came with little or no surprise as he has also been in terrific form for his club (Liverpool), also he was instrumental in Senegal’s World cup qualification.

Gabon is definitely not among the African teams that made it to the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia, but from an individual point of view he has been on terrific form for his Bundesliga side Borrusia Dortmund, perhaps the reason he is included in the list.
