Domestic worker cuts off genitals of 72-year-old woman

According to source, a 72-year-old woman in Umunze, located in the Orumba North Local Government Area of Anambra State, was severely injured by a group of individuals, including a domestic worker identified as Onyebuchi Ezeh.

Allegedly armed with a sharp object, the suspects entered the woman’s residence on Thursday and proceeded to restrain and mutilate her, cutting her genitals, ear, nipple, and fingers, among other vital organs.

The perpetrators fled the scene, leaving the elderly woman for dead. Two suspects are currently at large, while Ezeh has been apprehended by authorities.

While in agony, the elderly woman cried out for help, and her neighbors rushed to her aid and took her to the hospital for treatment in a desperate attempt to save her life.
Onyebuchi Ezeh was subsequently apprehended, and during questioning, he admitted to participating in the crime with his accomplices on the orders of an unidentified traditional healer who promised to make them wealthy if they provided the necessary organs.

Chidinma Ikeanyionwu, who serves as the media assistant to Ify Obinabo, the Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Welfare in the state, informed our correspondent on Sunday that the elderly woman is currently recovering at Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University Teaching Hospital, located in the Amaku Awka region of the state.

Ikeanyionwu said, “The incident was discovered after the victim raised the alarm on Thursday. One of her workers alongside two other men stampeded her in her house and cut off her genital organs including her nipple, ear, and fingers, among others.

“The culprit, Onyebuchi Ezeh, who was later caught, confessed that they were sent by a native doctor to get the needed organs of the 72-year-old woman in order to become billionaires.

“The suspect hails from Abakaliki in Ebonyi State, and usually helps the victim in cutting palm trees. He was said to have explained that they embarked on the act because they wanted to get rich according to the assurances of the native doctor.”

The Commissioner was said to have expressed sadness about the incident but also reassured the victim that others involved in the crime would be caught and prosecuted.

The suspect is currently in custody at the State Criminal Investigative Department of the Anambra State Police Command in Awka and will soon appear before the Children and Gender-Based Violence Magistrate’s Court in the state.
