I graduated University at 18 years — Mavin’s Ayra Starr

Nigerian singer Ayra Starr has shared a surprising revelation about her academic background.

The 20-year-old Mavin Records artist, Ayra Starr who has been making waves in the music industry since her debut in 2020, revealed that she graduated from university at the age of 18.

In a recent interview in Kenya, Ayra Starr stated that her mother had insisted that she must get a degree before pursuing her music career.

She explained that she wrote her West African Examination Council (WAEC) exams in SS2, a year before she was supposed to finish from secondary school and write the entrance papers.

Ayra Starr passed the exam with flying colors, gaining admission to study International Relations and Political Science at a higher institution in Benin Republic.

Despite her passion for music, Ayra Starr didn’t start her music career until she was 18 years old.

She said her mother’s insistence on getting a degree first played a big role in this.

She added that she intends to further her education, but for now, she is taking French classes, piano, and music lessons.
