Man slams Olamide & Davido for using their songs to promote the use of illicit narcotics

A journalist identified as Kingsley Obom-Egbulem took to his Facebook page to write that both Olamide and Davido should be declared persona non grata (unacceptable or unwelcome person) because of their songs.

Here is what he wrote:

“The Lagos state government and some Nigerian brands keep patronising these dr*g users… They supported Davido and Olamide’s concerts and these same singers are glamorising illicit dr*gs (to the same children elected leaders are meant to protect) in their songs.

Do you need counseling as a government to know that empowering Davido and Olamide and endorsing their music and lifestyle is akin to promoting messages about use of illicit dr*gs and substance abuse? Do these men and women in government have children at all. With #ScienceStudent I think we need to get ready for an implosion… Soon. We already have an epidemic of dr*g abuse we are battling with.

Ask Dokun Adedeji. Meanwhile if you are a parent, school owner, teens or youth pastor I think these may just be one of the biggest treats you’ll be dealing with in this 21st century… and declaring these guys persona non grata and working hard to invest in alternative contents, promoting new breed of role models that would engender a counter culture may just be a way out.”

In another news, Science Student leader, Olamide has urged his fans not to abuse drugs and alcohol, while advising them to live and drink responsibly.

Unarguably the King of the street, OLAMIDE BADDO kickstarted the year 2018 with yet another potential banger tagged SCIENCE STUDENT jointly produced by Young Jonn & BBanks.

But apparently, some see the song as a way of promoting alcohol and drug abuse, one way or the other.

In a post on his Instagram, Olamide said;

“Since the release of #ScienceStudent, the support has been massive. As you are all sharing, dancing, singing along to this relatable music of mine, I want you all to take some time to reflect on the subject, say no to drug abuse. Don’t abuse alcohol. stop mixing what you don’t know about.”

“Live responsibly and drink responsibly. Don’t aspire the ‘highness state’ but a state of purpose fulfillment and passion discovery.”

“Together let’s put an end to drug abuse and save as many lives as possible. The video will be out soon and I can’t wait for you all to see it. #SayNoToDrugAbuse #DrinkResponsibly #ScienceStudent”

Well the statement did not get down well with some fans which has made them to react…
