Men, women, & children jubilate in Igbere as Supreme Court annul Orji Uzor Kalu’s conviction (video)
Men, women, and children hit the streets in jubilation in Igbere Village, Bende local government in Abia State after the Supreme court annulled Orji Uzor Kalu’s conviction.
Today, May 8, 2020, the Supreme court revoked the judgement that convicted and sentenced the former governor of Abia State, Orji Uzor-Kalu, to 12 years imprisonment.
Kalu hails from Igbere village where he is said to own own a sprawling 400-room mansion/estate which he named ‘Camp Neya’, after his daughter.

The Supreme court, held that the Federal High Court in Lagos acted without jurisdiction when it convicted Kalu, his firm, Slok Nigeria Limited and former Director of Finance in Abia State, Jones Udeogu in a unanimous decision by a seven-man panel of Justices led by Justice Amina Augie.
