MIkel Obi who is the captain of the Super Eagles has saluted the Super Falcons players despite their defeat against France on Monday night, June 17.
Super Falcons were beaten 1-0 by France in their last Group game at the 2019 Women’s World Cup thanks to the penalty given to the hosts.
The initial penalty awarded to France after a video assistant referee review for a foul on Viviane Asseyi hit the post.
But Super Falcons goalie Chiamaka Nnadozie was ruled to have moved off her line early and Renard slotted the re-taken spot-kick. Mikel has now reacted to Super Falcons’ defeat against France telling the players that the whole Super Eagles stars watched and supported them.
”We all watched the game yesterday and its a shame that the Super Falcons lost, but they tried and we are proud of them and also wish them good luck,” Mikel explained.
And the girls get the praise and pat on the back from the one and only @mikel_john_obi @NGSuperEagles captain. Watch! #SoarSuperFalcons #Team9jaStrong #NGA #DareToShine #FIFAWWC pic.twitter.com/jXIDGpCXVi
