‘Nigeria is not a normal place to live’ – Man planning to relocate after 30 years in the US laments

A Nigerian lawyer, Abdulaziz Bakare has shared a message he received from his father-in-law, who is planning to relocate to Nigeria after 30 years of living in the US.
In a tweet he posted yesterday, Bakare wrote alongside a screenshot of the message:

My father-in-Law has lived in the US for more than 30 years & plans on moving back to Nigeria finally in 2018. To get used to Nigeria and make his final resettlement easy, he has been going back and forth this year. He sent me this after his latest return two days ago.

While the message read:

Like I said, Nigeria is a terrible place to live. Anyone going from here must really really be ready and very well prepared for battles that under normal circumstances, are not necessary. Nigeria is not a normal place to live. With extensive preparedness, one can achieve a mediocre semblance of normalcy. A word is enough for the wise.
