NSCDC Vehicle carrying election materials crashes in Abuja
On Friday evening, a Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) vehicle that was transporting election materials from Abuja to Lagos was involved in an accident.
According to report, the NSCDC officials were en route to Lagos with the election materials but met with an accident on Friday, February 24, the eve of the election at the Giri Roundabout bridge in Abuja.
A video on social media showed people picking up papers that were suspected to be electoral materials that were scattered on the ground.
According to an eyewitness in the video, some passengers were injured, and one sustained a head injury. However, it was unclear whether there were any casualties at the time of this report.
The witness stated that some senior officials of the NSCDC were moved to a different location. The incident’s cause is yet to be determined.
