Reactions as Couple go viral for having a wedding reception with only 7 people in Port-Harcourt, Rivers State

A Nigerian couple has gotten tongues on social media with the way they held their wedding reception,

The couple is currently trending online for holding a simple reception with few friends after exchanging their vows in Port Harcourt, the Rivers state capital.

The couple’s friend, Mr Alayi, posted photos from the church ceremony and reception held under a canopy with a table at a backyard on Thursday, December 24, 2020.

There had only one friend and a little boy at the church ceremony while the simple reception has about seven friends in attendance. There were no Asoebi, bridesmaids, groomsmen, glitz and glamour of typical Nigerian weddings.

“The wedding – The reception” he captioned the photos.

The tweet has since garnered over 24.9K Likes, 4,495K Retweets and hundreds of comments with varying reactions.

While some people blasted the couple for having their reception at a location that is not so luxurious, others have praised the couple for their unpretentious display of love.
