Super Eagles star Alex Iwobi extends his stay with Arsenal until 2022

Super Eagles superstar Alex Iwobi has penned a new long term contract extension with his Premier League side Arsenal.

The Nigeria international made his senior team debut at the Emirates Stadium under former manager Arsene Wenger in 2015 after joining the Gunners at age nine.

He is one of the product of the club’s academy ‘Hale End Academy’ and has enjoyed some level of success with the north London club.

Iwobi has scored nine times in 98 appearances for the Premier League appearances, with one FA Cup and one Community Shield titles to his credit.

Reacting to the contract extension, new Arsenal manager Unai Emery said:

“I’m very pleased Alex has signed a new contract with us. “He is a great example of a player who can succeed from the Academy through hard work and I look forward to working with him and our other talented young players in the squad.”

“We would like to congratulate Alex on his new contract and look forward to his continued contribution to the club.” Emery told Arsenal official website.

Iwobi also took to social media to express his excitement after signing the new deal that will see him represent the club until the summer of 2022.
