Popular Nigerian artiste and music producer, Philip Kayode aka Pheelz has revealed a point in his life he couldn’t afford a bottled water.

During an interview with Rollin Stone magazine, Pheelz revealed the financial dilemma he found himself in 2021.

Pheelz stated that he couldn’t afford the necessary things in life in 2021, however, things changed to the better for him when he made his hit song with BNXN titled ‘Finesse’ in 2022.

Narrating the 2021 ordeal, he said that things started to fall apart for him from early 2021 despite releasing his debut EP, ‘Hear Me Out’ in February of the same year.

According to the Electricity crooner, the EP racked up millions of streams on global platforms, unfortunately, the process cost him a lot of money, leaving a huge dent in his finances.

Afterwards, he got dumbed by his girlfriend in a relationship of five years, and also his best friend of 15 years abruptly ended their friendship via text one night.

He said that he lost everything except his house and friends were the ones feeding him during that period.

In his words: “It was a moment of being alone with myself. I have a vlog where I’d record myself and my thoughts every day. Two months ago, I checked that vlog and I saw myself, and it was just crazy because I had a beard.

I didn’t have enough money to buy bottled water; I would have friends send me food. I lost everything except the roof over my head.”

When asked how he felt with the about the turn of events, the producer said he believed it was just fate doing its thing.

“I just think it’s the universe. I feel like for this level that I’m on, that period needed to happen,” Pheelz added.
